Known as one of the best small towns in America, the village of Bigfork is located along the northeast shore of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and is the essence of a picturesque and charming mountain community.
Bigfork boasts world-class art galleries, fine restaurants, and a 27-hole golf course. Each spring, the melting snow creates the Swan River’s Wild Mile, where kayakers race the rapids during the Whitewater Festival. Cultural events include the Bigfork Summer Playhouse (now in its 60th season), the River Bend Concert Series, and the Bigfork Festival of the Arts. With more than 180 miles of shoreline, Flathead Lake provides that magnificent setting for all types of recreation, and close by are Glacier National Park, The Jewel Basin, and the Bob Marshall and Swan Wilderness areas.
